Come explore inquiry based learning through Reading and
Research with the North Country School Librarians Regional Conference. The North Country School Library Systems are
sponsoring a mini-conference featuring a keynote by Paige Jaeger, author of Rx for the Common Core and The Think-Tank Library. She will talk about research as the new
anchor standard and attendees will leave with concrete instructional strategies
for conveying higher-order thinking skills, turning read-alouds into
mini-inquiry discoveries, and questioning activities that teach
metacognition. Our luncheon speaker is
author Kate Messner, a former teacher in the Champlain Valley, who has written
several books for students in grades K-12.
Her latest work is All the Answers. Paige and Kate will also offer breakout
sessions, along with several school, public, and academic librarians. There will be vendors and author signings.
